Reminder: You will need to submit an application request for an absentee ballot for every election you want to participate in.

You may opt-in to receive an absentee ballot for the rest of the elections cycle without making another application if you are:

  • Disabled. I am physically disabled
  • Elderly. I am 65 years of age or older
  • I am a uniformed service member, spouse or dependent of a uniformed service member, or the other US citizen residing overseas

Once the county elections office reviews your absentee ballot application, you will be receiving your absentee ballot at the address provided in your application. The time frame of obtaining your absentee ballot will vary depending on the election and county.

  1. Fill out your absentee ballot based on the instructions provided. All the forms and envelopes to return your ballot will be provided. Remember to complete your ballot correctly in order for it to be counted.
  2. Once you completed your ballot, it is time to mail it. Your absentee ballot needs to be sent to your county election office by Election Day before 7 pm.

If you lost or misplaced the absentee ballot that was sent to you, there is still a way for you to get a new one. You must sign an affidavit affirming that you lost, destroyed,or did not receive the first absentee ballot. In this instance, another ballot will be issued. A new request for an absentee ballot is not required.

Remember that the Affidavit of Lost Ballot needs to be send to your county elections office.

It is important to remember that every county has its own Absentee Ballot Cancellation form. We advise you to visit your county election’s website for more information.

If you received an absentee ballot but decide to vote in person you will need to submit a cancellation form of your absentee ballot.

  1. If you have the absentee ballot you can show up to your designated poll location and submit it to the poll manager for cancellation.
  2. Once the cancellation is processed and accepted the elector may vote a regular ballot.

It is important to remember that every county has its own Absentee Ballot Cancellation form. We advise you to visit your county election’s website for more information.
